Let me guess:

You're here because you’re not satisfied, and you want something different.

You're tired of feeling like you can’t do this alone. You want someone who will listen, really listen, to what you have to say without judgement.

Because at the end of the day, you know deep down that your life can be better than it is now.

you’re in the right spot.

How I work

At the core of my approach to therapy is a belief that everybody just wants and needs to be heard.

I enjoy creating relationships with my clients. I’m not someone who just sits there and spouts off knowledge or assigns you a million worksheets to complete. I like to get to know you and for you to get to know me. That’s not to say that this is a coffee talk with your best friend. I’ve spent way too much time and money on my degrees and sharpening my clinical skills to do that. But it is important to me that I provide a space where you feel safe and supported while you explore the roots of why you think and act the way you do. And just like that swimming instructor who coaxed you into jumping off the diving board into the deep end when you were six, I’m here to challenge you and to make you uncomfortable at times, all within the confines of the secure space you and I have created together. Because that’s where the growth is. And you wouldn’t be here if you didn’t want to grow, right?

A ship in the harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.

in therapy with me...

We’ll dig deep.

We’ll talk about the struggles you’re facing and how they have shown up at other times and in other ways throughout your life. We’ll explore the roots of what makes it difficult to manage changes in your life and what keeps you stuck in patterns that no longer serve you.

You’re in charge.

You are a full partner in the work that we do. I will help you identify the goals you’d like to address in therapy from the outset, and I’ll follow your lead in each session regarding what gets addressed that day. Especially at the beginning, therapy is most effective when it is done weekly, but if that doesn’t work for you due to time limitations, family obligations, or finances, we’ll figure out a course of therapy that will work for you. And if at any point you don’t like what we’re doing, you have full authority to bring it to my attention so we can change our course of action.

I’ll cheer you on.

Nothing delights me more than seeing that “A HA!” moment come over you when you finally make connections between your past experiences and current behaviors. I live for it. But I also know just how hard this work can be, and I know that it’s so hard to see what progress you’ve made when you’re still stuck in the weeds. I love bringing even your smallest bits of progress to your attention so you can see that the work you’re doing isn’t in vain.
